The Comforter (Three Parakletos)

randyMc_1_cropBrother Randy opened the service by reading the 3rd Chapter of Zechariah, speaking about “The Vision of Zechariah”   Zechariah 3:1-10

Sermon:  “Three Parakletos”  1 John 1:1-10; 1 John 2:1-2; John 1:36-51; John 14:15-17; John 20:10-18; Gal 6:1-2; John 2:1-11

Parakletos (par-ak’-lay-tos):  A Greek word that translates into English as “an intercessor, consoler:—advocate, comforter”  Or “One who stands beside you as a helper.”

1)  “….we have an advocate (Parakletos) with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:”

2)  ” …And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter (Parakletos), that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive …”

3)  “Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.”  We are to be a parakletos to each other; we are to stand beside our brothers or sisters as their  helpers, comforters, and intercessors (praying) for them in their time of need.

Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
