Jeanette Charlton Memorial Service

Jeanette Inez Charlton

Special friend, devoted wife and mother, Jeanette Charlton, of Edmond, Oklahoma, passed from this life on July 19, 2022, at the age of 76. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reed and Alma Story. Jeanette is survived by her husband, Ron Charlton; her son, Chris Charlton; her daughter, Nikki and husband Will Moseley and grandson, Owen Moseley; and brother, Reed Story, Jr. (also called Buddy.)

She was born on June 26, 1946, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Jeanette married Ronald Charlton on March 11, 1966. They had two children: Chris and Nikki. Jeanette always loved pets and because of her failing health, recently had to part with her beloved dogs: Cinnamon, Spice and Andy, who have been adopted out to caring homes.

Jeanette graduated from Midwest City High School and attended Oklahoma State University for a time. She was a hairdresser throughout her life, cutting hair for people in need. She also loved cooking and baking and offering her delicious goodies to cheer people up. Jeanette was a friend to all and had a special way with people down and out and especially shut-ins.

Fishing was a favorite pastime and she would take Chris and Nikki fishing at their grandparents’ place when they were children. Jeanette found joy in the simplest things. She reveled in God’s creatures and creation. Her favorite place was being outdoors and she spent as much time there as possible and loved landscape design and gardening.

Jeanette was a member of the Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church of Oklahoma City.

lnurnment services were held Saturday, July 30, 2022, at 10 a.m. at Rose Hill Burial Park in Oklahoma City. Celebration of Life services were held on August 7 at 1:30 p.m. at Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church.

Randy McCarthy read from Colossians chapter 3 and spoke about The Preeminence of Jesus Christ.  He gave a comparison between the problems the people of Colossae were enduring and the state of the modern world.  He then spoke again about Submission (Col 3:18-25)
