Election (Romans chapters 9 – 11)

Mark Hasenmyer continued reading from Romans chapters 9 with a focus on Election.  He emphasized that both the Gentiles and a remnant of the nation of Israel are part of the Kingdom of God. Continuing into chapters 10 & 11; Israel (as a nation) were not looking for the redemption of Christ because they believed their eternal salvation came from the Old Testament laws, rituals, and sacrifices.

Mark Hasenmyer reviewed the themes of 1st Corinthians (1Cor 10:1-6) and its reference to the exodus of Israel and their time in the wilderness.
He then returned to commenting from 1st Corinthians chapter 10 beginning with verse 10. He focused this week on the themes of: temptation, fornication, idolatry, and murmuring – and how these are prevalent in the present world.
