Palm Sunday

Randy McCarthy opened services reading from Psalm 118:18-29. “Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you out of the house of the LORD.(Ps 118:26)

After prayer, Brother Randy continued speaking about the last week of Christ, leading up to his crucifixion and resurrection.  He began in Mark Chapter Eleven reading verses 1-11, about Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem, which is the fulfillment of the OT prophecy found in Zechariah 9:9, “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.Brother Randy pointed out that in order for us to see the whole story we need to study this account in the other Gospels (Matt 21:1-17; Luke 19:28-48; John 12:12-19), to which he gave a very able summary of these Scriptures.

Allen Daniels continued commenting on Psalm 118: 18-29, “This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

He then speaks on Old Testament prophecy about the coming of the Messiah.  He then speaks about the final days of Christ upon this earth, and even though they abused Him, scourged Him, crucified Him, and buried Him, He arose the third day, appearing numerous times in His glorified body, and after forty days, He ascended back into Heaven and sat down on the right hand of His Father. Brother Allen then speaks of the message that the Apostle Paul preached concerning these “Last Days” and the Second Coming of Christ, not as a lowly man riding upon the fold of an ass, but as the Triumphant King riding upon a White Horse conquering His enemies and taking judgement upon those who are NOT written in the Book of Life.
